Welcome to our website!

Our group is a part of the Department of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Amsterdam Institute of Molecular and Life Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

We are an interdisciplinary research group working at the chemistry–biology interface, engineering enzymes with non-canonical amino acids to unlock reactivity beyond what nature provides. Our biocatalysts find applications in drug synthesis, sustainable chemical transformations, and chemical biology more broadly.
